Should I go for Different Medication?

Q.For the past forty years I have been an epileptic, taking 60mg of phenobarbitol twice daily. It has been controlled these past few weeks, but now I am experiencing signs of a seizure. Should I go for different medication?

Gembel Campbell

A.When seizures start up again after a long period of control, it’s always a good idea to make an appointment with the doctor and get a re-evaluation.

Some women may experience a change in seizure patterns during or following menopause. Others do not. If for any reason your current medication is not controlling your seizures as it used to, your doctor will have several other treatment options that may work better.
